Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Cable News Network (CNN) on Saturday that the use of peaceful nuclear energy is Irans inalienable right. In this respect we have fulfilled our commitments. Also the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed this right,he added. Using peaceful nuclear energy is the right of every nation and at the same time the onus is on nations to make sure that their nuclear activities are not diverted and we are ready to cooperate in this respect, he stated. Access to nuclear fuel cycle for peaceful use is our nations natural right and it is upto the opponents to prove otherwise by putting forth legal evidence, Ahmadinejad added. We have witnessed their ill-intentions during the past 27 years. They have to refer to the international law to prove their claims. They cannot say they do not like our people and want to impose their views on us. The world cannot be run this way, Ahmadinejad added. We have concluded that the three European countries -- France, Germany and Britain -- do not want us to have nuclear fuel cycle and this is against the law. Access to peaceful nuclear energy is our right and depriving us of this right is not reasonable, he stressed. He also alluded to the constant supervision by the IAEA of Iranian facilities, noting that the IAEA inspectors have visited Iranian sites more than any other countries and that their agenda is evidently a political one. The opponents of Irans nuclear program should revise their viewpoints and recognize our rights. They should not be under the illusion that they enjoy more rights than other nations, the president said. Only by meeting these conditions mutual confidence can be built, Ahmadinejad underlined. President Ahmadinejad arrived in New York on Tuesday on an official five-day visit to attend the 60th regular session of the UN General Assembly. Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani and a number of presidents advisors are accompanying Ahmadinejad in his visit. President Ahmadinejad here Thursday stressed Irans unquestionable right to acquire the nuclear fuel cycle based on the Non-Proliferation Treaty. The president made the remark in a meeting with the EU3 Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of the ongoing UN world summit. Ahmadinejad said,Talks with EU3 will continue just to build up confidence that Irans nuclear program will not be diverted from peaceful purposes. Any talk should be comprehensive and about the implementation of all the NPT clauses. In the meeting, the EU3 Foreign Ministers provided Ahmadinejad with a report on the Tehran-EU3 talks on Irans nuclear program. The EU3 Foreign Ministers had already held a two-hour talk with Irans new nuclear negotiation team on the sidelines of the UN summit in presence of the EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana.
