The Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) based in Britain has criticized the European drug convention with Israel that opens the door to the Israeli medicines without conditions under the pretext that this agreement will help to reduce the medicines' prices . AORH added that the convention is totally contradicted to the legal, humanitarian and moral values on which the European Union is founded. The organization has expressed, in a statement on Wednesday, its surprise by the convention especially that the EU knows well about the reports documenting Israeli medical experiments on Palestinians prisoners, and knows about the Israeli brutal practices in the occupied Palestinian territories. With its agreement to such conventions, the EU becomes a partner in the Israeli daily crimes against the Palestinians, and we are fully aware that the European peoples will reject such agreements because they refuse medicines stained with the blood and suffering of the Palestinians, the organization said. The organization called on deputies of the European Parliament, who opposed this agreement, not to surrender and to work for cancelling this agreement, also called on them to form a committee to investigate with the medical experiments conducted in the Israeli prisons to support their position. The organization urged all the free people in Europe to stand against such agreements and to pressure their representatives in the European Parliament to withdraw this agreement and to organize campaigns for general boycott of Israeli goods. The statement said that the overall international legal norms and judicial rulings confirmed that the medical experiments practiced in particular on the protected persons in time of occupation or war is a crime against humanity and a war crime. The Rome Statute, which established the International Criminal Court (ICC), stated in article 8 paragraph 10 that these experiments are considered a war crime when "subjecting persons who are in the power of another party to the conflict to physical mutilation or to medical or scientific experiments of any kind which are neither justified by the medical, dental or hospital treatment of the person concerned nor carried out in his or her interest, and which cause death to or seriously endanger the health of such person or persons."
