Iran’s Majlis speaker stressed importance of vigilance and solidarity among Iraqi political groups. in a meeting with the Secretary General of Iraqi National Congress Ahmad Chalabi, Ali Larijani pointed to the regional developments and said, “Preserving political solidarity, strengthening national unity and refraining from difference, are the most important priority of Iraq in the current conditions and the Islamic republic of Iran will support any measure in this connection.” Larijani added, “It shouldn’t be allowed that a few problems and trivial differences of opinion endanger political solidarity, national convergence and territorial integrity of Iraq.” Iranian Majlis speaker referred to the ample capacities and capabilities of Iran and Iraq saying, “Connecting the wide facilities and capacities of the two countries will usher in huge developments in the region and the Islamic world.” Iranian top official also emphasized on the parliamentarian cooperation of the two countries noting that expansion of close and brotherly cooperation with neighboring countries especially Iraq is among the priorities of Iran’s Majlis foreign relations. The secretary general of the Iraqi National Congress, for his part, noted that all Iraqi groups and political leaders highlight all-out cooperation with Iran adding, “Iran is the source of hope for all Muslims in the world and the enemies’ concern of Iran’s might and power is the factor for the present pressures against Islamic Republic of Iran.”
