Abbasi’s remarks came after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on October 16 that West’s sanctions and restrictions will never be able to force the Iranian nation to bow to the demands of its enemies. Ayatollah Khamenei said “They keep saying that the reason for mounting pressure on Iran is to force the Islamic Republic to return to the negotiating table, but we had never left the negotiating table over various issues, including the nuclear issue, to return to it now”. Meanwhile, Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov informed of holding the next round of Iran-5+1 talks in November saying that the talks will be realistic.
