The United States has announced that it will close its consulate offices in Indonesia on Friday due to ongoing protests over a US-made anti-Islam film which has infuriated Muslims worldwide. According to AFP, the US embassy in Jakarta said in a statement US consulate offices in Jakarta and three other cities will be closed on Friday "because of the potential for significant demonstrations that might be held in front of these facilities." It added "We advise, as always, that people should avoid large crowds and other gatherings that might turn violent." The US-made sacrilegious film has sparked a wave of outrage across the Muslim world, with protesters marching on the US embassies and torching US flags in different countries. The American-made anti-Islam movie is said to have been made with the help of Jewish donations totaling USD 5 million. On September 11, US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed in an attack on the consulate building in the city of Benghazi after a group of people held a demonstration against the anti-Islam movie produced in the United States.
