The government's sudden announcement came after religious parties called for a day of protest on Friday to denounce the film. Meanwhile, the Pakistani government will summon the US ambassador to Islamabad to object to a blasphemous anti-Islam film produced in the United States. Reports say about 500 angry lawyers protesting against the controversial film gained entrance to an area housing the US and other foreign embassies in Islamabad, on Wednesday. Over the past days, thousands of Pakistani protesters have staged anti-US demonstrations. The protesters have burnt US flags and urged the Pakistani government to close the US embassy and expel the American diplomats.
