No matter what would be the fate of the Zionist Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Palestinians` fight for freedom would continue, said a morning Iranian daily on Saturday. Commenting on Sharon`s critical health condition, `Kayhan International` said, ”With little hope expressed for his full recovery by his surgical team after a seven-hour operation, it maybe assumed that an era in Zionist politics stretching back to Ben Gurion`s days are at an end. An era during which Sharon`s name has become synonymous with the mass murder and suffering of Muslims”. Referring to Sharon`s atrocities against Palestinians and his notoriety among them, it wrote that it would be impossible for any Muslim to remember Sharon with any degree of fondness. However, noted the daily, Sharon`s approach to the Palestinian issue prior to his hospitalization indicates that he was beginning to understand the error of his ways. ”Perhaps after years of inflicting mayhem, misery and mass murder on the defenseless native Muslim population of Palestine, Sharon finally got to grips with the bogus nature of Zionist claims in justification of their unjust occupation of another nation`s land; or maybe he eventually grasped the hopelessness of the Zionist state`s position in a region dominated by Muslims,” the daily argued. However, it stressed, ”Whatever the case may prove to have been with Sharon, Palestinian resistance and their fight for freedom and justice will continue unabated in the occupied Palestine.”
