An Iraqi daily ”Athawra` here Saturday quoted Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zibari as saying that Baghdad is keen strengthening mutual ties in all areas with Tehran. The Iraqi foreign ministry is planing to dispatch a special delegation to Tehran to discuss issues outstanding between the two nations, the daily said. It also added that the Iraqi government has agreed for Iranian pilgrims to enter Iraq and Iraq` representative offices have opened in the Iranian cities of Ahvaz and Kermanshah. The daily also said that a delegation from Iraqi transportation ministry in its visit to Tehran has discussed the trend in goods transportation via Iran. Iran has agreed to Iraq`s proposals for opening a coordination office in Tehran and setting-up a joint Iran-Iraq company in goods transportation. The two nations have been striving to forge closer trade ties. Iraq`s Minister of Industry and Minerals Usama al-Najafi in a meeting with Iran`s commercial attache in Iraq, Janali Halvaei last week called on Iranian and world industrial enterprises to submit their industrial proposals to Iraqi partners to enable them pick up the suitable ones. The minister expressed satisfaction with the quality of Iranian industries and said that Iran has made remarkable progress in improving the quality of its industries over the recent years. The meeting aimed to follow up the mutually signed industrial and commercial agreements, in particular those on power generators, glass industry, detergents, auto industry, cooking oil and sugar. Al-Najafi underlined that every contract inked between Iraqi industrial companies affiliated to the country`s Ministry of Industry and Mines and foreign partners should be approved by this ministry to authorize their implementation.
