The International relations official in Hamas movement, Osama Hamdan, said that Hamas is still the most prominent representative of the Palestinian resistance, stressing on its confidence that "the rebellious peoples will regain the lead." Hamdan asserted in a press statement on Tuesday that Hamas will always adhere to the resistance as a strategic option, and that it will never quit resisting the occupation. He said: "Today the Arab peoples are moving towards regaining the initiative and getting rid of all the tools of pressure imposed on them. We must trust these peoples and believe that their paths will always be in favor of the Palestinian cause and will always support the option of resistance, which we consider the only strategic option that can result in regaining the Palestinian rights." He also added that any attempts to suggest that Arab revolutions can weaken the Palestinian resistance represent wrong analyses. The International relations official denied that Hamas movement has any tendency to repeat the scenario of the Palestinian Liberation Organization which recognized the state of "Israel"; asserting that "It is impossible that we will repeat this mistake ... We will work to lift the Palestinian reality from this miserable experience (PLO) and return it to the right track." Concerning whether these efforts will include the possibility of reconciliation with Fatah, Hamdan said: "There is a difference between the Oslo Group and the Fatah movement. We will be interested to unite all our people. We cannot accept to let any party divide the Palestinian ranks because of Israeli dictates."
