Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi says the government of the United States is the source of cyberterrorism in the world.Vahidi noted on Monday that the US is planning to increase its cyberterrorism activities by projection and incriminating other countries. He mentioned the Zionist regime of Israel as another prominent instance of involvement in cyberterrorism, adding “This regime [Israel], in collaboration with the US government, is putting pressure on independent countries which oppose its expansionist policies by planning and directing cyber attacks.”Iran’s defense minister also noted that “The US and the Zionist regime of Israel have so far planned and directed numerous cyber attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” all of which have ended in failure due to high talent of the Iranian nation. Iran has been the target of several cyber attacks over the past few years. In June, a report by the Washington Post said that the US and Israel have cooperated in creating the computer virus Flame to spy on Iran. The US National Security Agency, the CIA and Israel's military worked together to create the Flame virus, the American newspaper added. In addition, the New York Times also revealed in June that US President Barack Obama secretly ordered a cyber attack with the Stuxnet computer virus against Iran to sabotage the country’s nuclear energy program. In response to these attacks, Iran has launched a cyber defense headquarters tasked with preventing computer worms from breaking into or stealing data from the country's maximum security networks, including nuclear facilities, power plants, data centers and banks.
