Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament, Dr. Ala od-Din Boroujerdi, said today that warmongering elements in Muslim countries ought to be accountable to public opinion and to posterity reviewing the pages of history. referring to the ceasefire proposal for Eid al-Adha between the Syrian government and armed groups in that country, he said that since war is a negative development, the Islamic Republic has proposed ceasefire to restore security in order to overcome this fabricated crisis. Boroujerdi pointed out that since this crisis was created in Syria by outside elements, the Islamic Republic of Iran had had a clear stance and spared no efforts to pave the ground to solve this problem in the framework of inter-Syrian talks. On the defeat of the plan by the West and Arab reactionary regimes in imposing the Yemen formula in Syria, he said that due to the difference between these two crises, this is totally unfeasible. Terrorist outfits backed by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the US and some other regimes, have tried to destabilize part of Syria, and through indiscriminate killing of people and security forces, have attempted to pave the ground for foreign intervention.
