An overwhelming number of Britons believe that the current propaganda campaign against Iran has been blown up out of all proportion, according to the findings of an ongoing internet poll. Just over 70 percent said that the threat posed by Iran has been grossly exaggerated compared with only 20.8 percent who disagreed and 8.3 percent saying they did not know. The poll is being conducted by Intelligence Squared, a London forum, which is due to debate the controversy at the Royal Geographical Society in April. The forum, which is sponsored by the Times newspaper, takes information and analysis as its raw material, and translates this into discussion, conversation, and debate. It was set up by two media entrepreneurs, John Gordon, who has founded Xtreme Information research consultancy, and Jeremy O`Grady, cofounder of The Week magazine. A year ago, Intelligence Squared conducted a poll on whether Zionism was the real enemy of Jews that found almost 50 percent agreeing and slightly less, just under 45 percent, disagreeing.
